But if you pay more attention to negative thoughts, then your mind will think that that’s what you want and will give you more negative thoughts.

When you start to ignore your negative thoughts, it will signal to the mind that you are not interested in that thought and it will eventually go away.

It will take some practice and you have to make it a routine and eventually, you won’t think of negative thoughts and if some come up, you will be able to ignore them because you would be used to ignoring those thoughts.

2. Have More Positive Thoughts

This does seem simple to do ( and it is) but just because something is simple, doesn’t mean it’s hard.

Just have more positive thoughts.

If any negative thoughts come up, then simply ignore it and pay more attention to positive thoughts.

This might be hard to do especially if you paid attention to negative thinking for so long, but it is well worth it in the long run.

You might also have to force yourself to think more positive thoughts too.

But once you do this for a while, having more positive thoughts will be easy for you and will pretty much be automatic.

3. Observe Your Thoughts

Observing your thoughts is another great way to get rid of negative thinking.

How you might ask? Well when you observe your thoughts, you become more aware of them and see them for what they are.

You can then you can choose to keep the thought-form rolling in your mind or simply choose to think of something else.

When you do this consistently (not only once) you will notice that you feel more positive than before which it will reflect in your life, and you might even realize by then that you are not your thoughts.

Well, you do it is analyzing the thought and It’s important to not invest any energy in it no matter how true it is.

Remember, it is just a thought at the end of the day.

4. Write Them Down

Writing down your thoughts allows you to express your thoughts without really telling anybody but yourself.

It also shows you what kind of thoughts you are thinking every day.

I would recommend writing down your thoughts every single day and do one of the two things, either throw the paper away or look at what thoughts go through your head every day.

It will allow you to realize what you are thinking and how you are feeling.

And getting rid of negative thoughts is satisfying too.

  1. This is a very thoughtful post. Most people these days come a little short when it comes to looking inward with some self evaluation that would help them to not spiral downward emotionally. I was always reminded of the golden rule, “positive attracts positive and negative attracts negative”. I have never really thought of writing down thoughts so they are out in the open to be viewed, I will definitely be trying this tactic next time.
