How To Take More Action In Your Life

Do you want to take more action in life? We all make decisions every single day whether that is the decision to eat healthier, meditate, start that new business, or really any other decision that we make regularly.

That decision is pointless if we do not take the action to actually do what we decided what we want to do.

I’m going to talk about specifically 8 things that you can do to take more action in your life.

Those 8 are…

  • Stop Procrastinating
  • Do It Right Away
  • Stop Overthinking
  • Be Consistent
  • Overcome Fear
  • Don’t Get Distracted
  • Be Present In The Moment
  • Do It Even If You Don’t Feel Like It

Now that I briefly covered what I am going to touch on and you have an idea of what I am going to talk about in this article, let us begin.

Stop Procrastinating

The first way to take more action in your life is to stop procrastinating.

Most people procrastinate because they are afraid of failing and can be seen when someone is avoiding a task that they know they have to complete.

In order to take action, you will have to stop procrastination because procrastinated is one of the major blocks of taking action.

Since procrastination is at its core is the fear of failing, all you have to do to solve this is to not fear of failing.

Understand that failing is a part of life and that it is part of success as well.

If you procrastinate and don’t fail then you will never grow.

 Do It Right Away

Don’t hesitate and do it right away.

It is always better to do something right away than later.

If you keep on putting something to do in the future, you will never take action.

This is because if you tell yourself you are doing it in the future, then your brain will be primed to always do things in the future and it will never be done.

If you have this bad habit of putting off something and tell yourself you will do it in the future, then you should stop this habit.

It might take some time to stop this habit as I have a habit to put off stuff in the future but I have been significantly better at not putting stuff off.

If it helps you can put it this way, you are doing your future self a favor by doing it now instead of later, and your future self won’t have to do as much.

I sometimes use this when blogging and it has helped me be a little more consistent and get it done right away instead of putting it off.

Stop Overthinking

When we start to overthink, we become paralyzed and end up not wanting to take action anymore or move forward.

We eventually come up with a bunch of excuses for why we can not move forward like you don’t have enough time or that the timing isn’t perfect.

So the simple solution is to stop overthinking what you need to do and just do it.

And I even overthink sometimes.

I realized and became aware that I was overthinking what I wanted to do or talk about on my youtube channel.

I kept on overthinking what I want to talk about in my video and I eventually say to myself that I don’t have enough time and don’t do it.

Though now I realize this and am making my first youtube video and uploading it.

Be Consistent

Consistency is key to get awesome results when you are taking action.

Most people fail because they are not taking action consistently.

Most people take action for about one or two weeks and give up because they don’t see any results right away.

I know that it can be hard to be consistent sometimes if you don’t feel like doing it in somedays but if you do it based on if you feel like doing it or not, then you will get nowhere and will be super inconsistent.

You will have to do it even if you don’t feel like it.

It might not look like you are getting no results but trust me when you stay consistent to take action, then you will be successful.

Overcome Fear

We all feel fear when we want to take action on something that we have never done before.

Overcoming fear is one of the most important things to do to take action.

If you don’t overcome your fears then how would you take action on the things that you know you need to do?

You will get the same results over and over and over again if you keep on doing stuff that is in your comfort zone and is not even a little scary.

Fear can also be a good indication of what action you might need to take.

For example, if you want to be a YouTuber and you want to film your first Youtube Video but you feel fear because you don’t know what other people think and you are camera shy, then it might be an indication to go take the action and film the Youtube video.

Decide that you will be the hero and overcome your fear instead of the other way around.

Once you overcome your fear, you will be able to take action with ease.

Don’t Get Distracted

In this day in age, we have a lot of distractions that lead us to not taking action ion the things that we want or need to get done.

Examples of this are social media, tv, videogames, electrical devices like phones, even friends and families sometimes.

In order to take action and take action consistently, you will have to limit or not get distracted.

This can be very hard to do, especially if our brain is not always focused and want to get the thing that gets the dopamine going without that much effort.

It might seem painful to not give in to distractions do and I know this because I am in this process too.

But it is well worth it and essential to take consistent action.

Be Present In The Moment

Different Ways To be More Present In The Moment

When you are not present in the moment while taking action, it will be hard for you to focus on the task at hand and you can easily get distracted.

There are multiple different ways to be present in the moment.

One of the ways to be present in the moment is to meditate.

I would recommend that you meditate for about 5 minutes so you can become present enough to focus on the task at hand.

Another way to be present in the moment is to do some breathwork.

I find that breathwork helps you be more present at the moment better than meditation.

You can just simply breathe in deeply for about 6 seconds while you inhale, hold, exhale, and hold again.

Once you are more present in the moment, you will be able to take action and be efficient.

Do It Even If You Don’t Feel Like It

The last point that I am going to talk about in this article is to take action even if you do not feel like it.

A lot of people don’t take action or take action consistently because people take action only if they feel like it.

I honestly did this for a long time until I recently realize from a youtube video that to be successful, you have to take action even if you don’t feel like it.

The video explains that motivation is like a muscle that you have to build over time.

I do agree with that statement.

Motivation only comes sometimes with the average person but if a person stays motivated and keeps on taking action, then they will simply get results.

I have recently been building up my motivation muscle ever since and there were sometimes were I wanted to put some stuff off like making this article for example but I persisted and stayed motivated to do it.

I have already seen results from it, I noticed that I feel more confident and my self-esteem rose.

So keep in mind when you don’t feel like doing anything that taking action anyways even when you don’t feel like it will get you results.

Conclusion

Taking more action in life can be difficult if you procrastinate and get distracted a lot.

But if you work on getting stuff done and not getting distracted while your taking action then you will be golden.

That is all I have for this article.
